Sharp Adds New Talent in Global Operations and Finance to Senior Leadership Team
June 28, 2022
Sharp, a leading provider of pharmaceutical packaging and clinical services, has appointed Michael Moes as Senior Vice President, Global Operations and Roger Sim as SVP & Chief Financial Officer.
Michael Moes will be responsible for identifying and implementing continuous process, productivity and cost improvements while increasing asset and resource utilization to support Sharp’s ongoing growth. As SVP & CFO, Roger Sim will lead all aspects of Finance for Sharp and will also participate as a member of Sharp’s Board of Directors.
Prior to joining Sharp, Michael Moes was Vice President, Global Supply Management, at West Pharmaceutical Services where he was responsible for ensuring customer product supply from its network of global commercial manufacturing sites, clinical sites and distribution centers. In a career spanning over 20 years, he has held roles with responsibilities in supply operations at Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals, Wyeth, Pfizer and Endo Pharmaceuticals.
Roger Sim has over 25 years of experience in all aspects of finance, including Mergers & Acquisitions and has a demonstrated history of driving growth and expansion in both private equity owned manufacturing and packaging companies as well as large scale publicly listed companies. Prior to joining Sharp, Roger was Chief Financial Officer with Spartech, LLC.
Both senior leadership roles will report to Kevin Orfan, Sharp President & CEO.
Kevin Orfan commented: “I am thrilled to be welcoming both Michael and Roger to the Sharp leadership team. Between them they bring a vast amount of experience and expertise in their respective fields. I’ve no doubt they will have an immediate positive impact on our global operations, as well as on our clients experience of Sharp.
“I speak for all of Sharp when I say we are looking forward to working alongside Michael and Roger and to the contribution they will both make to our growth and development in the years ahead.”
The appointments follows news that Sharp has completed the construction of purpose-built production suites at its facility in Heerenveen, the Netherlands, for packaging, storing, and distributing gene therapies.
The build-out complements similar capabilities available at the company’s Bethlehem facility in Pennsylvania, as it looks to offer support for clients in both the US and European gene therapy markets.
