ACM Presents PEARC22, July 10–14, in Boston
We are excited to announce the return of the in-person ACM PEARC22 (Association of Computing Machinery, Practice and Experience in Advanced Research Computing) conference and its celebration of advanced research computing. PEARC22 will be held at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts, July 10–14, 2022. The conference theme: Revolutionary: Computing, Connections, You, acknowledges rapid shifts that have become a constant in the field of advanced computing, the PEARC community’s role in creating state-of-the-art methods and our imperative — as individuals — to achieve an ethical and connected computing future.
While many important PEARC22 speakers will address this theme, the conference will open with a keynote address by Ayanna Howard, an accomplished roboticist, entrepreneur, educator and dean of The Ohio State University College of Engineering. Dean Howard’s career spans higher education, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the private sector. In May 2021, she was named the ACM Athena Lecturer in recognition of her fundamental contributions to the development of accessible human-robotic systems and artificial intelligence, and efforts to forge new paths to broaden participation in computing.
Additionally, the ACM PEARC22 Technical Program Committee has released its Call for Participation (CFP). While all submissions are welcome that address topics related to advanced research computing and data science, any that are consistent with one or more of these three technical tracks are of particular interest:
- Workforce development, training, diversity and education
- Applications and software
- Systems and system software
February 18, 2022 is the initial CFP deadline. Authors should plan to deliver their presentations at the July conference in-person.
PEARC22 is led by General Co-Chairs Julie Wernert (Indiana University) and Alan Chalker (Ohio State University). “After a two-year in-person hiatus due to the pandemic, we are extremely excited to reconvene the research community in a safe and welcoming environment,” said Wernert.
