Microway Showcases NVIDIA® DGX-2™ AI System at GTC DC 2019
PLYMOUTH, MA, UNITED STATES - Nov 4, 2019 - Microway, a leading provider of computational clusters, servers, and workstations for HPC and AI, announces the NVIDIA® DGX-2 system will be showcased in Microways booth at the GPU Technology Conference 2019, November 4th - 6th in Washington, D.C. Having already installed DGX-2 in many leading HPC/AI centers across the nation, Microway is uniquely qualified to expertly integrate and deploy this AI supercomputer for optimized performance. Microway was Americas 2018 NVIDIA Partner Network HPC Partner of the Year.
During the event Dirk Van Essendelft, General Engineer of the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), will present work performed on Microways NVIDIA® DGX-1 which demonstrates the merger of high-performance computing and machine learning within the domain of computational fluid dynamics.
Typically, research labs would increase performance by adding hardware or making incremental improvements to their HPC solver code, said Eliot Eshelman, VP Strategic Accounts and HPC Initiatives at Microway. NETL has a totally new approach: they are using machine learning on our DGX-1 to replace part of the work that used to be done by traditional simulation methods. Theyve discovered the potential for massive improvement in overall performance in the future.
Applications which scale up on multiple GPUs can be further accelerated by moving to a platform with 16 fully-connected NVLink GPUs, as in the DGX-2. The NVIDIA® DGX-2 that Microway will showcase delivers industry-leading 2 petaFLOPS of AI deep learning performance. The system harnesses the power of 16 NVIDIA® Tesla® V100 GPUs, fully interconnected with the enhanced-bandwidth NVIDIA® NVLink interface to boost the speed of deep learning training.
