Rho, a full-service contract research organization (CRO) focused on bringing new products to market through a full range of product development services, announced today that Laura Helms Reece, DrPH and co-CEO of the company, was named a CEO of the Year by the Triangle Business Journal.

“It is an honor to be included in such a prestigious list of leaders in the Triangle region,” said Helms Reece. "This award is recognition of the impressive job our entire team does leading Rho, including my co-CEO Russ Helms. This is the fifth year of these awards and, as in past years, the list reads like a “Who’s Who” of top local executives. This year’s roundup features 20 executives in top posts from a variety of industries, including manufacturing, technology, banking, real estate, biopharma and sports business. The winners received the honor based solely on responses from their peers: other CEOs or top executives in the Triangle. More than 100 survey recipients voted for the top 20 leaders from a ballot of 48 names. After the internal assessment, what resulted is the standout class of CEOs who help drive the Triangle’s success and make it such a prominent place to work and live.

On April 25, Helms-Reece was recognized at the CEO of the Year dinner gala celebration at The Umstead Hotel & Spa in Cary, North Carolina, along with other 2019 winners.
