RxTE Health Appoints Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations

November 28, 2017

Sara Linnerooth, PharmD, Brings Extensive Clinical Experience to Pharmacy Benefit Solution Company

SILICON VALLEY, CA, UNITED STATES - Nov 28, 2017 - RxTE Health (RxTE), a company specializing in pharmacy cost reduction programs for employers, today announced that it has expanded its executive team with the addition of Sara Linnerooth, PharmD, as Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations. In this role, Linnerooth will be responsible for the overall strategy and execution of clinical development activities, including solution design and driving the product roadmap for RxTE.

Linnerooth brings extensive clinical and pharmacy experience to her new role at RxTE. Most recently, Linnerooth worked as a clinical pharmacist for WellDyneRx, a leading prescription benefit manager (PBM). During her two years at the full-service PBM, Linnerooth was responsible for developing clinical programs and utilization management strategies, as well as managing formularies. Linnerooth received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Regis University in Denver, Colo. in 2014.

“As we continue to collaborate with a growing number of employers and PBMs to bring down pharmacy costs, it is very exciting to bring Sara onboard to ensure we continue to deliver clinically backed and proven pharmacy benefit solutions,” said David Henka, President and CEO of RxTE. “We are thrilled to leverage Sara’s clinical expertise in order to provide our clients with tools that drive significant cost savings.”

RxTE works with employers across the country to implement reference pricing, an innovative payment model proven to significantly move the needle on healthcare’s fastest growing (and third largest) cost driver: pharmaceuticals. Using a propriety algorithm, RxTE leverages insurer/employer contributions and economic incentives to encourage patients to select less expensive drugs that are biologically equivalent to their name-brand counterparts. RxTE’s solution drives average savings of 20 percent per year on pharmacy plans.

“In recent years, we have seen more and more people not adhering to treatment plans only because they can’t afford the medication prescribed by their doctors, which not only results in poor outcomes, but drives up healthcare costs,” said Linnerooth. “I am excited to join a company that is actively and successfully helping to curb growing pharma costs. More than that, I am honored to join a company that is giving people the tools they need to be more empowered and engaged with their healthcare and make more informed decisions about their prescription drugs.”
