Linguamatics Recognizes 2016 Achievements, Including New NLP Advances, Customers and Partners
CAMBRIDGE, UK - Jan 25, 2017 -
Text analytics provider Linguamatics today announced that 2016 represented one of the companys most successful years ever, further positioning the organization as the leading provider of Natural Language Processing (NLP) text mining solutions for healthcare and the life sciences. Highlights from the past year include the highly-anticipated I2E 5.0 release; the addition of further high-profile customers and strategic partners; and industry recognition from leading research firms KLAS, Forrester and Frost & Sullivan.
Im very proud of the tremendous progress we made advancing the capabilities of our Linguamatics Health and Linguamatics Life Sciences platforms, cementing our leadership position in NLP solutions for unstructured big data this past year, said Linguamatics Executive Chairman John Brimacombe. We will build on our momentum as we move into 2017, and look forward to announcing additional milestones in the coming months.
Linguamatics 2016 achievements also included the release of the I2E Asynchronous Messaging Pipeline (I2E AMP). By providing scalable, real time, fault tolerant capabilities in service oriented environments, AMP enables rapid textual processing for clinical risk monitoring from EHRs, semantically-enhanced enterprise search, and big data ETL applications.
Linguamatics welcomed multiple new customers and strategic partners, including a top five health insurer, a major U.S. government agency, and a leading oncology focused EHR provider. Other key alignments include a partnership with cognitive search and analytics provider Sinequa, membership in the Pistoia Alliance, which is dedicated to improving global life sciences R&D, and inclusion of Hadoop vendors Cloudera and HortonWorks in the Linguamatics partner program.
In an inaugural report on NLP[1], the independent industry analyst firm KLAS detailed different ways providers were using Linguamatics to improve the delivery of healthcare, such as aiding in the identification of at-risk patients, and creating and reconciling patient summaries. KLAS also noted that providers see Linguamatics as a product that has potential for applications that offer real-time clinical decision support. The research firm Frost & Sullivan also recognized Linguamatics with a market leadership award[2] in NLP-based text mining for the Life Sciences industry.
To meet the growing demand for Linguamatics products and services, the company grew its workforce to around 100 staff by the end of 2016. Key executive hires included Elizabeth (Liz) Marshall, MD, MBA as Director of Clinical Analytics, and Mary-Ann Moore as Vice President of Marketing.
We look forward to a number of exciting events over the next few months, including our February Text Mining Seminar in California, our April Linguamatics Spring Text Mining Conference in Cambridge, UK, and the expansion of our Linguamatics Community site and forums for I2E users, said Phil Hastings, Linguamatics Chief Business Development Officer. We are confident that 2017 will be another banner year for our organization and our customers successes.
