OPTRONICS Introduces TOMAHAWK a New Line of Economical Portable Videoscope System Packages for a Wide Range of Routine Industrial Remote Visual Inspection Applications.

OPTRONICS®, a manufacturer and distributor of microscope cameras and industrial visual inspection systems, announces the release of a new line of economical & portable videoscope systems developed for a wide range of routine industrial visual inspection applications.

According to Richard Crandall, Director of Business Development, “our new TOMAHAWK videoscope package was conceived to address a growing demand from customers that seek video enabled inspection tools for their routine visual inspection problems in lieu of traditional low-cost fiberscopes ...our TOMAHAK line of videoscope packages address this need with enhanced performance, improved image quality and cost efficiency.”  He added.

Two models of the new videoscope system are now available with the following specifications: 3.9mm diameter with 2-way articulation and a 3.9mm diameter with 4-way articulation.  Both models offer a 0-degree angle of view, compact color video display and on-board image capture with video recording.   Industrial design characteristics include ruggedized tungsten braiding, integrated on-tip LED illumination, stainless steel sensor casing and a lithium battery source which provides up to 4-5 hours of continuous working time.  The videoscope system has an Ingress Protection rating of IP67.

Both videoscopes offer smooth and reliable manual articulation, an intuitive user interface providing full control of the video preview, image capture and video recording.  Both video and USB outputs provide instantaneous integration to ancillary displays.  For enhanced ergonomic viewing, the video preview screen can be detached from the video probe enabling the operator to use the videoscope in tight places where a screen might otherwise interfere or where video display placement enhances the inspection process.

TOMAHAWK videoscope packages include a small hard sided storage case for all components of the system to facilitate travel.  The industrial grade system case is designed with locking mechanisms to safely secure and protect it’s contents.  The overall compact case is compliant with carry-on luggage requirements and fits easily in aircraft overhead bins. All system components are included within the case.
