Rhapsody Takes Top Spot for EMPI in Recent Black Book Ranking

Over 900 Hospitals and Inpatient Organizations and 4,000 Physician Practices Participated in 2023 Financial and RCM Solution Survey

Boston, MA – June 27, 2023 – Rhapsody, a global leader in healthcare data interoperability, ranked number one in the Enterprise Master Patient Identifier Solution category of the 2023 Black Book™ Financial and RCM survey. Nearly 5,000 participants from hospitals, inpatient organizations, and physician practices were polled to determine the top client-rated financial and RCM solutions delivering digital transformation and managing liquidity. The results further highlight how Rhapsody healthcare identity data management continues to demonstrate market leadership and a strong commitment to driving positive financial outcomes in the provider market.

“Forward-thinking organizations are looking for ways to make their identity data management operation more efficient, better integrated, and more aligned with the goals of their organization,” said Drew Ivan, chief product officer at Rhapsody. “Rhapsody strives to meet our customers where they are to support their varied goals and we continue to set the bar when it comes to innovating in support of person-centric interoperability across the healthcare ecosystem. This Black Book ranking is evidence that healthcare finance executives recognize our ability to remove barriers to digital transformation, provide quick time to value, and drive positive financial outcomes relative to our peers.”

The survey collected responses from 4,959 health system Chief Financial Officers, Vice Presidents of Finance and RCM, Controllers, Business Office Managers, Staff, Consultants, and Directors from hospitals and physician practices to determine the top-performing vendors among in-demand financial software, technology platforms, and systems, and assess the gaps and urgencies of financial technology administration. Vendor performance was evaluated across 18 categories of client experience, loyalty, and customer satisfaction.

Black Book found that the compounding fiscal distresses of hospitals, physicians, ambulatory ancillaries, and post-acute providers have created intensifying demand for advanced technologies to maintain solvency. In that vein, Rhapsody has experienced increasing demand for its EMPI solution, the industry’s most reliable offering to ensure patient data accuracy. The solution uses a powerful set of proprietary tools to identify and resolve identity data inconsistencies that referential data alone is unable to address. Rhapsody continues to invest in its EMPI technology and recently released version 11.3 which includes enhancements and new capabilities in the areas of equity, efficiency, and empowerment.
