Amerigo Scientific Releases Optimal ZediXclusive TG6-ab ELISA (IgA) Kits to Detect TG6-Autoantibodies in Human Sera
Amerigo Scientific, a distribution company focused on providing critical products and services to the biomedical and life science communities, released ZediXclusive TG6-ab ELISA (IgA), the updated version of ZediXplore TG6-ELISA (IgA) kits, to support celiac disease-related studies. These innovations can be used in the detection of TG6-autoantibodies in human sera.
Celiac disease is the most common chronic inflammation of the small intestine triggered by cereal gluten/gliadin uptake in genetically susceptible individuals. Meanwhile, the gluten-induced autoimmune disorder is characterized by autoantibodies to tissue transglutaminase (TG2), antibodies to deamidated gliadin, and villous atrophy in the final stage. TG2 plays a central role in celiac disease. Besides being the major autoantigen, it is involved in pathogenesis. Under certain circumstances and in distinct environments as given within the inflamed gut, TG2 catalyzes deamidation of glutamine side chains in gliadin yielding glutamic acid and recognized by receptors of the immune system, thus triggering celiac diseases.
Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kits are a convenient tool for the specific detection and accurate quantification of proteins and antigens from various samples. To facilitate the research of celiac disease, Amerigo scientific and Zedira have achieved consensus on producing and supplying a well-selection of optimized ELISA kits that allow researchers to achieve the detection of TG6-autoantibodies from human sera.
Compared with ZediXplore TG6-ELISA (IgA), the ZediXclusive TG6-ab ELISA (IgA) required no background subtraction procedure. Therefore, researchers can now measure up to 40 sera in duplicates using one kit. Additionally, as advanced calibrators are adapted, more relevant lower titers are covered in the ZediXclusive TG6-ab ELISA (IgA). Titers (U/mL) obtained by the new E103/E104 kits can be translated to titers of old kit versions E003/E004 and vice versa! Nevertheless, cutoffs are redefined based on sera collection from 38 blood donors, equally distributed by sex and age, as well as sera collection from 86 patients of various neurological disorders.
