FactBio CEO Joins OBO Foundry
CAMBRIDGE, UNITED KINGDOM - Oct 25, 2017 - FactBios CEO, Dr James Malone has joined the Operations Committee of the OBO Foundry, a collective of ontology developers that are committed to developing a family of interoperable ontologies that are both logically well-formed and scientifically accurate.
Dr Malone will support the OBO Foundry in its mission to improve the use of ontologies globally, via collaboration and adherence to shared principles. His role on the Operations Committee will cover such areas as the establishment of policies, review of resources, outreach and education.
Dr James Malone, CEO of FactBio, said: The OBO Foundry has a crucial role to play in improving the adoption of biomedical ontologies to improve the use of data. With the increasing proliferation of ontologies, there is a growing need to develop consistent standards for use in research across all areas including business and academia.
