Bio-IT World Welcomes 2018 Best Practices Entries

October 3, 2017 | Bio-IT World is accepting entries to the 2018 Bio-IT World Best Practices competition. For the past fifteen years, the Bio-IT World Best Practices Awards have highlighted outstanding examples of innovations and partnerships serving as powerful forces for change in the life sciences.

The deadline for entry is March 2, 2018, and the application fee will be waived for entrants who meet the early deadline of December 8, 2017.

As the Bio-IT landscape matures and stakeholders dig deeper into the challenges of precision medicine, ‘omics data management, storage and data mobility, solutions come from partnerships and collaborations that bring various voices to the table. Together entrepreneurs, clinicians, researchers and engineers are defining the new standards that push the industry forward.

Bio-IT World’s distinguished peer-review panel of judges has reviewed nearly 500 entries over the program’s history, from large pharmaceutical companies, startup biotechs, non-profit organizations, hospitals and care centers, government health agencies, and innovative IT vendors.

“Our industry is moving rapidly, and if we can’t share our innovations and make progress we risk our efforts becoming fragmented,” said Bio-IT World’s editorial director, Allison Proffitt. “These awards serve as a testing ground for new ideas and a platform to share best practices on which the community as a whole can build. It’s a privilege to host part of the conversation.”

This year, entries will be accepted in six categories: Clinical & Health-IT; IT infrastructure/HPC; Informatics; Knowledge Management; Research & Drug Discovery; and Personalized & Translational Medicine.

The 2018 winners will receive a crystal award to be presented during a plenary session at Bio-IT World Conference & Expo, Boston, May 15-17, 2018. Winners and entrants will also be the subject of special features in Bio-IT World.
