Janssen Research and Development has signed an agreement to license Optibrium’s StarDrop software. The agreement will provide a global licence for StarDrop and eight of StarDrop’s optional plug-in modules. StarDrop is a software suite that helps researchers deliver optimally balanced, successful compounds. It brings confidence and intuitive simplicity to decision making; guiding and validating the direction taken by project teams and which compounds are prioritized. StarDrop works by evaluating project teams’ complex data, which is often uncertain because of experimental variability or predictive error. Its interactive tools then enable researchers to efficiently explore ways to further improve their chosen compounds. StarDrop's core features can also be extended with a range of optional plug-in modules that provide comprehensive capabilities for compound optimisation, including: Predictive models for ADME properties, P450 metabolism and toxicity; automatic QSAR model building; 3D structure-activity relationships; and de novo design to stimulate the search for new optimisation strategies. Press release.

10x Genomics has globally released the Chromium System, the genome sequencing platform the company announced in February. Chromium is built upon the foundation of the original 10x GemCode technology with the vision of delivering researchers and clinicians the power of Linked-Read data and seamless integration into their pre-existing sequencing technologies. Press release.

DataDirect Networks (DDN) has announced DDN Flashscale, a new family of all-flash scale-out and scale-up storage solutions, which delivers the highest performance and capacity in a cost-optimized and feature-rich platform designed for Enterprise Big Data and Analytics, Web Scale Cloud, and HPC environments. Flashscale concurrently delivers extreme levels of IOPS (6 million) and throughput (60GB/s) in just 4U, with up to 60 million IOPS and 600 GB/s in a single rack; leverages the latest NVMe and SAS or a mix of both SSDs in a high density hyperconverged, shared storage architecture (up to 576TB in 4U and 7.3 Petabytes in one rack); and delivers latencies as low as 100μs for superfast embedded application speeds thanks to its specially designed internal PCIe Gen3 fabric.
