Google Increases Award in 'Nobel' Prize of Computing

The annual awards recognize "major contributions of lasting importance to computing," and until now have included a cash prize of $250,000. The Google-backed increase puts the awards on level with the Nobel Prize, which does not have a computing category. Mashable
