March 5, 2014 | Last month, the Broad Institute released an updated version of GenePattern, the Institute’s open-source genome sequence analysis software (see, Bridging the Gap: Bring Genome Analysis Tools to the Masses with GenePattern). In addition to user-requested fixes, version 3.8.0 boasts a new user interface, an improved modules and pipelines pane, and user improvements like the ability to run a batch job over multiple drag and drop files, and parallel execution of jobs in a pipeline, so they run faster. Users can also pin favorite modules for easy access. More details on the release can be found in the release notes, and a video overview of the updates is available.
