Updated 5/9 to include EMC layoff news.
May 8, 2013 | EMC rolled out several announcements this week during their EMC World event. eCliniqua talked with EMC about their expanded life sciences suite, starting with a clinical trials application. The company is also planning to extend its Isilon OneFS network-attached storage operating system to new use cases later this year, adding deduplication, compliance auditing and object storage features; and make the company's enterprise file management system work with hybrid clouds, thanks to technology from last year’s Syncplicity acquisition. The company also reported, however, that it is laying off 1,004 employees as part of an $80-million initiative to cut costs.
