Big Investments Behind Precision Medicine

April 23, 2013 | Major medical centers are gearing up for a push for precision medicine. Mount Sinai has spun up a new $3 million supercomputer--Minerva. Weill Cornell Medical College and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell hospital are building a $650 million research tower. Memorial Sloan-Kettering has invested $550 million. Skeptics would claim it's all a bit premature. But Robert C. Green, a Harvard professor and a medical geneticist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, counters, "What was there to look up on the Internet when the first person got a personal computer?
