US Government Not Targeting Exascale Computing

April 15, 2013 | The federal R&D budget numbers did not save room for exascale computing. Many had expected the exascale goal to be quietly shelved in light of the sequester, but there were some compute gains. The Department of Energy's Advanced Scientific Computing Program saw a 6% increase, and the Networking and IT R&D inter-agency program will also get a 4.2% increase. A realistic target for exascale may be 2020. HPC Wire
