European Universities, Companies Launch Stem Cell Bank

December 7, 2012 | Roche and Oxford University are leading the push to build the world's largest repository of induced pluripotent stem cells. Ten drug companies and 23 universities have joined the cause with funding from theEuropean Commission and other sources. The $73 million project is called StemBANCC. The stem cells will be stored in the U.K. and sent by courier to the cell bank's members when needed. Wall Street Journal
