Novartis to Build $500M Facility in Singapore

October 31, 2012 | Novartis has announced a $500 million investment in Singapore in the form of a new manufacturing facility that will focus on drug substance manufacturing based on cell culture technology. The new facility will be colocated with Novartis' existing Tuas plant. "Novartis’ new biopharmaceuticals manufacturing facility, its first in Asia, will  strengthen the development of Singapore’s biopharmaceuticals sector which has attracted more than S$2.2 billion in fixed assets investments and employs more than 1,700 people ” said Kevin Lai, Director, Biomedical Sciences, Singapore Economic Development Board, in a statement.
