September 17, 2012
September 17, 2012 | Researchers from the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla and Sea Lane Biotechnologies have identified an antibody that protects cells from the influenza virus. To ID the antibody, the team used Craigslist.com to collect bone marrow samples from donors who had been exposed to strains of the flu. They then created a library of antibodies storied in the donors' bone marrow. The work was published in Nature on Monday. UT San Diego
