Cloudera and Mount Sinai: The Structure of a Big Data Revolution?

July 6, 2012 | Big Data meets Multiscale Biology: Cloudera, the poster child of the Hadoop ecosystem, and the Mt Sinai School of Medicine, have announced a collaboration to solve medical challenges with Big Data. Both parties are putting their best people on it -- Cloudera co-founder Jeff Hammerbacher and Mt Sinai's Eric Schadt, director of the Institute of Genomics and Multiscale Biology. "Hadoop and other Big Data technologies have been revolutionary in the sphere of computer science; but applying them to the realm of natural science has the potential to change lives," writes Andrew Brust.
