Twin Study Finds Little Prediction Power in Genomics
April 3, 2012
April 3, 2012 | A study published yesterday online in Science Translational Medicine found that knowing a person's DNA doesn't seem to help predict a person's medical future. The twin study surveyed twin registries in the US, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Norway and compared how frequently one twin, both, or neither got one of 24 diseases. The analysis showed that most twins were of average risk, even though some did develop disease. New York Times
