National Human Genome Research Institute Proposes Reorganizing

January 11, 2012

January 11, 2012 | The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) is proposing to expand from its current structure of two divisions — one extramural, the other intramural -- to seven divisions. The new configuration would transform the institute's extramural research program into four new divisions: Division of Genome Sciences, Division of Genomic Medicine, Division of Genomics and Society and Division of Extramural Operations. Two other new divisions -- the Division of Policy, Communications and Education and the Division of Management -- would join the holdover Division of Intramural Research.

NHGRI staff will convene two public meeting to discuss these organizational changes in the next few weeks. NHGRI
