July 22, 2011 | SINGAPORE—Dell announced the launch of the Dell Solution Center (DSC) in Singapore, today, one of twelve DSCs launching globally in 2011, and the only site in South Asia.

Dell Solution Centers are technical labs offering technical briefings, demonstrations, proof of concept testing and validation for Dell solutions. “They are a resource for customers to architect, validate and build their efficient enterprise while ensuring a seamless integration of legacy and new technology and reducing IT investment risk,” said Ng Tian Beng, VP and managing director, consumer, small and medium business, Dell South Asia and Korea. “With IT getting more complex, organizations are looking for ways to better use the IT budgets on technological innovations to grow their business. The center aims to help customers understand their technology through briefing sessions and workshops and maximize their IT spend through our proof of concept testing.”

The 7,000 sq. ft center in Singapore will have 10 employees and focus on several areas including virtual data centers; intelligent data management comprising storage technologies and data tiering to address storage optimization and compliance requirement; and next generation end-user computing encapsulating desktop virtualization solutions. Dell believes that businesses in the South Asia region are generally small to medium in size, and plans to focus the center on that segment.

The Center will also offer Cloud services to customers. “Our cloud solutions offered at our Dell Solution Centers aim to enable more customers to gain a better understanding of cloud and how these services can propel their businesses to speed up time to revenue and dramatically reduce total cost of ownership,” said Ng.
