HHMI, Max Planck Society and Wellcome Trust Plan Open Access Journal
June 27, 2011
June 27, 2011 | Three leading scientific organizations -- the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), the Max Planck Society and the Wellcome Trust -- are to launch a new high-impact, open access journal for biomedical and life sciences research. The journal will be edited by "experienced and actively actively practicing" scientists dedicated to "fair, swift and transparent editorial decisions followed by rapid online publication." The journal will debut in the summer of 2012.
A hallmark of the new journal will be "to avoid asking authors to make extensive modifications or perform endless additional experiments before a paper can be published," according to Wellcome Trust director Sir Mark Walport. HHMI News
