Watching Protein Misfolding with Jaguar

June 14, 2011

June 14, 2011 | Researchers at North Carolina State University have figured out how copper induces misfolding in teh protein associated with Parkinson's disease, thanks to the Jaguar supercomputer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The researchers simulated the interaction of hundreds of thousands of atoms to study the onset of misfolding and the dynamics of the resulting structures. ORNL
