Google Joins Global Alliance for Genomics and Health, Proposes API

February 28, 2014 | Yesterday on the Google Research Blog, the company announced that it has joined the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health, an international effort to harmonize approaches to enable responsible, secure, and effective sharing of genomic and clinical information. In the blog post, Google introduced an API proposal to import, store, process, and search genomic data; a preview implementation of the API; and a collection of open-source sample projects.
